As part of a doctoral seminar of the doctoral school in the field of Visual, Performing and Fashion Arts,
Serena Bellotti and Clément Lafite, members of the SAFE research group, discussed the topic of the
sustainability of film heritage. Serena Bellotti presented the method and the first results of the SAFE
project, while Clément Lafite’s talk focused on calculations of the environmental impact of some
European film conservation centers. Following the presentation, there was an interesting discussion
together with the audience and the speakers, Emanuele Braga and Giuliano Gaia, regarding the issues
of digital preservation and the implementation of artificial intelligence systems in audiovisual archives.
