The second workshop dedicated to “Digital Preservation Digital Formats, Network and Data Curation” was held on 19th July with great success for internal, stakeholder and partner training and laid the concrete foundations for the development of the survey and data collection phases. It had a significant following of listeners, an audience selected and made up of numerous experts and specialists and attended by the majority of interested national archives. The first two speeches, by Walter Arrighetti (IMF User Group) and Reto Kromer (AV Preservation by reto.ch, Bern) have been focused on the Digital Formats for Film Heritage, their Oppurtunities and Challenges. The third one, held by Claudio Santancini (Österreichisches Filmmuseum, Vienna), offered the opportunity to highlight the concrete application of the FFV1 at the Austrian Film Museum and the Implementation of a Sustainable Archiving Strategy. Brecht Declercq (RSI – Radiotelevisione Svizzera, Lugano) contribution was devoted to a case study (“”Large Scale Outsourced Film Digitisation””) and focused on workflows and specifications, while the Stéphanie Ange (Diazinteregio) present the Diazinteregio platform, as “”a Joint Venture for Indexing and Promoting Territorial Film Memory Collections”” and so open the discussion also in Italy about a future digital infrastrcture and cooperative network among the growing number of non-theatrical film archives.
