Workshop Meta-design I: Archival Infrastructures.​ Film Vaults and Sustainability, Monitoring and Preservation Metrics​.

The first workshop dedicated to “Archival Infrastructures Film Vaults and Sustainability, Monitoring and Preservation Metrics” was held on 1st and 5th July with great success for internal, stakeholder and partner training and laid the concrete foundations for the development of the survey and data collection phases. It had a significant following of listeners, an audience selected and made up of numerous experts and specialists and attended by the majority of interested national archives. The first part, held on July 1st, ​was lead by Valentina Rossetto (Cineteca Nazionale) ​and Lisa Vergelli (University La Sapienza) ​with a contribution devoted to the “”Microclimate Monitoring and Vinegar Syndrome Inspection in Cineteca Nazionale Film Archive””; the second part (July 3rd) was held by Alessandro De Zan (Archivio Cinema Friuli Venezia Giulia) who contributed with an in-depth account of the first 15 years of the FVG Film Archive (“”The Cineteca del​ Friuli Archive Experience””) and by Pavel Jelen (Národní filmový archiv, Prague) ​with a very interesting and fruitful contribution dedicated to the “”Useful Tips for Improvement​ or Planning Depository Climate””; the third part (July 5th) of the seminar was attended by Nadja Wallaszkovits (State Academy of Art and Design, Stuttgart) ​with a contirbution focused on “”Energy-saving Audiovisual Archiving: Current Developments and Possibilities”” and by Daria Zendri (Macro Design Studio) that offered to all participants and to the SAFE’s research group a contribution aimed to explore the “”Design of a Sustainable Archive for the Preservation of a Nitrate Film Collection””.
